(Boston, MA) Today Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito announced another funding source to assist in the reopening of Massachusetts. The Shared Streets and Space Program, made directly to municipalities to launch or expand parking lots, sidewalk, and spaces to accommodate outdoor dining and retail shops and services in downtown towns and main streets was announced earlier in the month.

Today, Polito announced a grant program available to non profits and community groups, to assist local economic recovery efforts. The Resurgent Places Program allows groups to apply for grants up to $25,000 for assistance in outdoor seating spaces and sidewalk retail.

Applications for both open June 22. Applications for the Shared Streets and Space Program are available at and mass.gov, and applications for the Resurgent Places Program are available at massdevelopment.com.
