ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The North Quabbin Food-A-Thon raised over $47,000 in twelve hours yesterday for six local food pantries. This was the 22nd annual Food-A-Thon, ran by nearly 160 volunteers.

A statement from the Food-A-Thon steering committee:

At the 6pm end point of the 22nd North Quabbin Foodathon Tuesday, the greater community at large contributed $42,740, in 12 hours.

That total will grow as final collections from 2 intersections in the centers of Orange and Athol have yet to be added in, and collections by check mail-in are not included.
This money will be turned around and given to 6 area food pantries.
Close to 160 volunteers facilitate the Foodathon each year and the entire steering committee sends deep appreciation to everyone who contributed to this annual event.
