(Greenfield, MA) The 9/11 American flag will continue its tour of western Mass with a stop in Greenfield Thursday morning. The flag that flew over Ground Zero post 9/11 will travel into Greenfield after 9 a.m. along Main Street with a police, fire, and EMS escort. The flag will stop at the Greenfield Fire Station to be displayed briefly and then it will continue toward its local destination in Bernardston to kick off the New England Run for the Fallen. This three day event has runners traveling 140 miles from Cushman Park in Bernardston to Kittery, Maine. The 9/11 American flag is on its way to be retired at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City.
