AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — DESE, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education found Amherst Regional High School to be short 95 learning hours in the 2024-2025 school year, after a complaint was made that the school counted it’s “flex block” as part of its learning time and miscounted early dismissals.
Superintendent Dr. E Xiomara Herman has made a statement to say the district will address the discrepancy for the upcoming school year and also ordered a review of the Amherst Regional Middle School’s schedule as a precautionary measure.
