GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — It will be a busy week for local high school basketball teams as seven area squads have made it into the Round of 16 of the state tournament.

In Division 4, Frontier Regional hits the road for a matchup at # 6 Cohasset High School Monday night at 6:30 p.m. The 11th-seeded Red Hawks looked impressive in a 59-34 victory last Thursday night. In Division 5, there are three more local teams involved, with two of them playing Monday night. The 16th-seeded Mahar Senators travel to the Berkshires for a matchup with top-seed Hoosac. The tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., the Pioneer Panthers, the 10th seed, will be at #7 Maynard. The Franklin Tech Eagles, the #12 seed, will play their Division 5 Round of 32 game Wednesday night at #5 Westport. That game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.

On the boys side, the Western Mass Class C Champion Mahar Senators, the fifth-seed in the state tournament, will be in action on Tuesday night, hosting #21 Old Colony. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. in Orange. Also Tuesday night, the third-seeded Pioneer Panthers will host #11 Athol at 6:00 p.m. at Messer Gymnasium in Northfield.
