(Franklin County, MA) Area schools, including Frontier, Union 38, Pioneer Regional, and Gill-Montague will remain in remote learning models for a little bit longer in 2021. Pioneer Regional superintendent Jonathan Scagel wrote in an email to families earlier this week that the decision was based on striking a balance between health and safety for students, faculty, and staff. He also asked families to forgo group activities during this time.

“We ask that you continue to forgo group activities and to remain vigilant with recommended infection control measures by enforcing mask wearing, social distancing, and extra hand washing for your families. It will take this commitment by all of us to get back to some kind of normalcy in the future,” wrote Scagel.

Gill-Montague will remain in the remote learning model for at least two weeks while Frontier/Union 38 has set January 11 as a target date to return to hybrid learning.
