Ashfield Lake Beach Is Now Open

(ASHFIELD) –The town beach at Ashfield Lake has reopened. Last weekend, testing showed elevated levels of e coli, forcing the Board of Health to close the beach indefinitely. Subsequent testing yesterday showed levels that allow the beach to reopen. The Board of Health is reminding visitors to follow proper social distancing protocols.

Greenfield Fire Department remembers 9/11 24 years later: “We will never forget”

On this 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on America, the Greenfield Fire Department hosted a ceremony of remembrance at the fire station at 41 Main Street.

Fire Chief Robert Strahan addressed a small gathering of residents and GFD members. Strahan said September 11 this year was in some ways was very reminiscent of September 11, 2001.
