(Ashfield, MA) The Ashfield Fire Chief Kyle Walker wrote a letter to residents asking for support funding a new fire engine at the Annual Town Meeting on May 6th. The current apparatus is 27 years old and the town has been saving for a new truck. With $400,000 saved, the town will be asking residents to vote on a debt exclusion and $300,000 to purchase the fire engine. They will need a 2/3 majority vote to move forward.
