(Ashfield, MA) The Ashfield Park Commission is seeking evaluative opinions on the oak trees at the Ashfield Town Beach and Park. The trees are over 100 years old and they are hanging precariously over the bathhouse and other structures. One tree is dead at the top with few live branches, another is split and showing signs of decay.

The Park Commission has spoken with six arborists so far. One of which said they would use a core sampler to complete a full evaluation, costing around $500. The Park Commission will be sharing the information gathered in this process with the town residents before making a final decision.
