ASHFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — This Saturday, May 3rd in the Ashfield Town Meeting, voters will decide on a proposition two and a half override to pay for the Bronson Avenue retaining wall repair and to change the elected position of Tree Warden to an appointed one.
There are also three non-binding public option questions two related to the invasive weed growth at Ashfield Lake and a third pertaining to whether the town would support closing Sanderson Academy.
The Town Meeting will have a total of 30 articles to be voted on ranging from the town’s operating budget for FY26 including over $3.3 million in education spending and bylaw changes for Planning Board term length, adding a pre-application hearing for special permits, and $352,000 in capital projects.
Before the Town Meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall, a brief special meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m.
