Athol Police Department building closed temporarily, command post setup

ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Athol Police Department building is closed for foot traffic and administrative purposes after a break in the sprinkler system caused water and power issues.

All emergency services remain fully functional and there will be an officer staffing a command post trailer, lent by the Orange Police Department, outside the station while damages are assessed and plans for restoration are made. 

Athol Police are asking emergencies continue to be directed to 911, and there is a temporary non-emergency line to call the station; 978-249-8275.
