ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Monday, July 28th Athol Savings Bank announced plans to merge with Cornerstone Bank, a subsidiary of PeoplesBancorp, MHC.
According to a statement from Athol Savings Bank, the bank and its five branches will remain open and with the same name, with the addition of “A Division of Cornerstone Bank.”
The partnership is set to begin early next year, pending approval, and is a “strategic move” to introduce Cornerstone’s full suite of digital banking services, greater lending capacity, and stronger capital positions.
