BUCKLAND, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The town of Buckland has provided notice of a proposed project on Avery Road that will be partially within a Federal Flood Risk Floodplain.
Avery Road experienced significant damage from stormwater runoff in July including culvert collapse, sinkholes, and erosion. While the town has worked to find alternatives to working within the floodplain, such alternatives have been deemed unaffordable and would extend the road closure by many years.
Comments about the project will be accepted by the town until September 25th.
