(Massachusetts) The Baker-Polito administration has announced new guidance regarding Phase 2 COVID-19 vaccinations. Starting tomorrow February 11, one caregiver joining the 75 years of age or older resident can also receive the vaccine. Vaccine appointments that have already been made are not eligible for this exception. Appointments should be made as close together as possible.
“There’s definitely light at the end of this tunnel,” said Baker during today’s press conference.
Baker said ultimately Massachusetts has to rely on the supply of the vaccine received from the Federal Government but Massachusetts is moving as quickly as possible through the process. Residents who are 75 years of age or older and their caregivers can call 211 for more information regarding how to make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine. It is possible there might be a wait for the appointment and it is important to not come early to the appointment to avoid excessive wait times and limit support to one trusted companion.
