(undated) — A legal dispute over Governor Baker’s handling of the COVID crisis may be headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. The New Civil Liberties Alliance is arguing that Baker’s decision to invoke the Civil Defense Act in response to the pandemic violated the Constitution. The NCLA is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case, arguing that Baker’s actions took the power to address the crisis out of the hands of local boards of health, as mandated by the Massachusetts constitution.
