(Boston, MA) A $9.7 billion infrastructure bond bill (MassTRAC) was announced Thursday by the Baker-Polito administration. The goal of this bill is to provide funding that will support transportation and environmental infrastructure projects and make effective use of federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
In addition to highway, transit, and environmental projects, “[t]his legislation includes additional authorization to support investments in cities and towns to promote bicycle and pedestrian safety and invigorate our downtown community public spaces through several grant programs,” said Lieutenant Governor Polito
Some highlights of the MassTRAC bill include $6.2 billion to support core programs for Highway, Transit, and Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) and $3.55 billion to support pursuit of federal discretionary and competitive grant program funding.
