(Boston, MA) The Baker-Polito administration has lifted restrictions on some businesses starting Monday, February 8. Businesses that have previously been restricted to 25% capacity will be permitted to go to 40% capacity. Additionally, for restaurants and personal service businesses, employees will not be included in the tally to 40%. Additionally, weekly pool testing of Massachusetts schools to test for COVID-19 will begin Friday. Pool testing kits will go first to schools that are doing in-person or hybrid learning. Schools that are looking to get students back into the classroom but are still learning remotely will also be able to get pool testing kits.

Unlike capacity restrictions, gathering limits are being extended. Indoor gatherings are limited to 10 people in Massachusetts and outdoor gatherings are limited to 25 people. Private homes, event venues, and public spaces are all part of the gathering restrictions.
