(Boston, MA) Governor Charlie Baker has filed another bill to require the collection of more COVID-19 data from the provider and lab communities. This bill expands on H.4672 signed into law on Sunday, requiring the Department of Public Health to report demographic information related to gender, race and ethnicity, primary city or town of residence, and age. The bill also requires the department identify trends based on demographic factors of gender, race and ethnicity, geographic location, age, and for hospitalizations English as a second language. The department must also identify barriers to accurate reporting and identify how the barriers will be improved. A task force to identify underserved and underrepresented communities.
