(Hadley, MA) More information has come to light regarding the barn fire in Hadley earlier this week. The Hadley Fire Department was dispatched to 85 Shattuck Road for multiple 9-1-1 calls for a fully engulfed barn fire. Upon arrival, the actual address of the barn fire was determined to be 92 Shattuck Road. The home next to the barn was exposed to heavy heat, and North Hadley Engine 3 initiated a fire attack once on scene to protect the home. According to Hadley Fire Chief Michael Spanknebel, thirty plus fire fighters from Amherst, Sunderland, and Northampton assisted with the extinguishment of the fire. The Office of the State Fire Marshal investigated and determined they didn’t find anything suspicious in nature but the fire is still under review. No injuries were reported but the barn and farm equipment and one vehicle were a total loss.
