(Greenfield, MA) Baystate Heath has once again updated its visitor policy due to rising COVID cases. Being yesterday, only one visitor is allowed per day for non-COVID-19 adult and pediatric patients in the intensive care unit. For those at the hospital for surgery, no guests are allowed although one may be present at discharge. The updated policy follows new guidance from the state that are trying to make sure hospitals have sufficient capacity to care for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients. As of yesterday, the three area Baystate Health facilities had a total of 311 COVID-19 patients. 75% were not vaccinated according to hospital officials.
