TURNERS FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Superintendent of the Gill-Montague Regional School District has announced he is stepping down. Brian Beck made the announcement at Tuesday night’s School Committee meeting.
“Tonight, I am notifying the School Committee, and the community, of my intent to resign as Superintendent of the Gill-Montague Regional School District,” said Beck. “I will work with the School Committee to decide on an appropriate date to ensure that the district is able to conduct a search for my replacement, and I will work hard to facilitate an orderly transition of responsibility.”
Beck went on to express gratitude for the time he spent in his role as head of the district.
“I’m grateful to the School Committee for the opportunity to serve in my home community in this capacity, and I’ve been blessed to work with so many talented and dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators in this role, and I have learned a ton from you all. Thank you.”
Beck was hired in 2020 to replace former Superintendent Michael Sullivan after serving as principal at Hopkins Academy in Hadley.
