(Bernardston, MA) — Bernardston residents have joined in the fight for a new fire station. A resident petition featuring over 100 names asks for the release of a $1 million dollar state earmark to expand the town’s fire station. Town officials say they were told the money was passed in 2018 as part of a $3.8 billion dollars transportation bond bill, but it has so far not been released. State Rep. Paul Mark and State Senator Jo Comerford are working with the town to expedite the release of those funds.
