GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — 1st Franklin District State Representative Natalie Blais has announced that she plans to resign from her position.

Blais said she will become associate vice-chancellor of government relations at UMass-Amherst, effective January 19. Blais said the new job will afford her the opportunity to use her skills and experience from Beacon Hill to support education in the state, while also allow for more time with her family.

In 2019, Blais took over the district seat previously held by long-time representative Stephen Kulik, after earlier work as an aide to U.S. Congressmen John Olver and Jim McGovern.
