BRATTLEBORO, VT (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Last Wednesday, July 23rd, Brattleboro police arrested Brattleboro-resident 52 year-old John Oja after reports were made of a child being lured into a Quality Inn hotel room, according to a statement from the Brattleboro Police Department.
Hotel employees intervened quickly and the child was returned to their parents, reportedly unharmed. Police found Oja in the area of the hotel on Putney Road when he was taken into custody without incident.
The court ordered Oja to be held in lieu of a $1,000 bail.
Oja was due back in court on July 24th.
