GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The City of Greenfield’s property tax rate for Fiscal Year 2025 has been set at $19.56 per $1000 valuation. That rate is a 4.2% decrease from the Fiscal Year 2024 rate of $20.39. The FY 25 rate is the lowest in the city since FY 12.
“I am grateful for the hard work and due diligence of our Assessors Department and the Board of Assessors,” said Mayor Ginny Desorgher. “In a time where prices and inflation continue to skyrocket, our decreased FY25 tax rate should hopefully provide some relief for residents and community stakeholders.”
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue approved the tax rate on December 6. The new rate will be reflected starting with the January 2025 tax bills, with the average single-family tax bill expected to decrease by $30 compared to FY24.
