(Millers Falls, MA) There was a brush fire on Friday afternoon around 3:15 pm in the area of Newton and Franklin St’s in Millers Falls. When the Turners Falls Fire Department arrived on scene the fire was on and below the railroad bridge in the area. The fire was caused by a passing train igniting the railroad ties and the dry brush below.
The Turners Falls Fire Department was assisted by the Shelburne Control Regional Dispatch, Montague Dispatch, Montague Police, Erving Fire, and the MA DCR Bureau of Forest Fire Control.
