Buckland Retired Police Chief Resigns As Auxiliary Officer

(Buckland, MA) — James Hicks is no longer affiliated with the Buckland Police Department. Hicks recently retired as chief of the department, but retained a position as an auxiliary officer despite facing indecent assault charges related to an alleged incident which occurred when he was chief. The Buckland Selectboard allowed Hicks to keep his auxiliary position because of his presumption of innocence, but Hicks officially resigned from the position on October 18.
