(Greenfield, MA) A 7.72% budget increase for the upcoming school year was unanimously approved by the school committee and will move forward in the budget process, still to be approved by city council. The bulk of this increase is for salary increases that have been negotiated over the past two years and instructional material updates. This will help make teacher salaries competitive in the area and replace instructional equipment that is at its end of life across the district. In the public comment portion of the meeting, there was discussion around the nature of public meetings and the right to record these meetings without hindrance.
