(Deerfield, MA) Jeffrey Cancel-Muniz, wanted in Deerfield, was captured in Kissimmee, Florida by a motel desk clerk at a Travelodge Motel on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway just after midnight on Wednesday. Cancel-Muniz was arrested at 12:30am Wednesday morning by Osceola County Deputies and he is currently being held in the Osceola County Jail. Cancel-Muniz will be rendited to Massachusetts for the charges out of Deerfield.

Cancel-Muniz is a level three sex offender wanted for aggravated rape, kidnapping, and strangulation during an alleged sexual assault in May 2020. On April 1, the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section of the Massachusetts State Police (MSP VFAS) received a tip that Cancel-Muniz had fled the state and might have been in Kissimmee, Florida. Cancel-Muniz was believed to be transient in Kissimmee, and the United States Marshal’s Service along with the VFAS worked to determine a specific location for the alleged fugitive. When the clerk at the Travelodge had an issue with Cancel-Muniz, he performed an online search which turned up the wanted poster and other information provided when Cancel-Muniz was added to the Massachusetts Most Wanted list.
