(South Deerfield, MA) With the cold weather front sweeping through the region, more residents are cranking up the heat, which can lead to more fire risks in homes. Tuesday evening South Deerfield Fire District responded to reports of a chimney fire on Gromacki Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found visible flames coming from the chimney and worked from both the interior and exterior to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
