GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Greenfield City Council is facing yet another alleged Open Meeting Law violation complaint.

According to the complaint records, the complaint was filed by Greenfield resident Stephanie Duclos against the City Council, specifically President Lora Wondoloski and Councilor Kathryn Golub for additions to the City Council meeting agenda that were posted on the same day as the meeting, Wednesday, March 19th. The additions were questions for the School Department submitted by Councilor Golub.

The Council requested and was granted an extension to the 14-day response requirement so they could respond to the complaint at the next full Council meeting on April 16th.

At the Committee Chairs meeting held on Tuesday evening, councilors discussed potential changes to clarify how questions can be asked of city departments noting that while a change was made asking councilor to submit department questions ahead of time, that questions could still be asked at the meeting.

Also discussed was methods to ensure questions are answered by departments, such as potentially listing unanswered questions in “Old Business” on the agenda so they are recorded for accountability and clarity purposes.
