GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The City of Greenfield on Monday announced a reconfiguration of the downtown parking plan, effective February 3.

The Pleasant Street Lot will now be free public parking. Only the western half of the lot is public parking. The eastern half of the lot is private parking.

The four-hour time limit restriction on the following lots will be removed, meaning visitors can pay to park for up to a full day of parking:

  • Ames Street Lot
  • Miles Street Lot
  • Legion Avenue Lot

The Chapman-Davis Lot (located behind the Wilson’s Building) continues to allow all day parking as before. The Olive Street Parking Garage continues to provide long-term parking for those looking to park their vehicles more than a single day.

Parking lots will no longer be divided between permit and kiosk sections.

The cost to park at the Miles Street lot will be reduced from 50 cents per hour to 25 cents per hour.

An up-to-date map showing the new parking configuration in downtown Greenfield can be found at greenfield-ma.gov/parking. Rates and time limits for other parking locations – including on street parking – remain unchanged.
