AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) – A civil rights complaint has been filed against UMass Amherst. The Equal Protection Project filed the claim, alleging the university’s “SBS Rise” program has violated Title VI with their acceptance criteria, specifically accusing the program of racial discrimination. The U.S. Department of Education will be determining whether the matter requires investigation.
