COLRAIN, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Colrain Selectboard is meeting tonight for a vote on the town’s FY26 budget, before it goes to voters at the Annual Town Meeting on May 6th.

The proposed budget reflects a 7.7% increase over the current year, totaling $5.29 million. The largest increase in the budget is for the Highway Department so they may support wage increases and a larger overtime line.

The education portion of the town’s budget is the largest figure and is also seeing an increase this year, nearly 4% for the Mohawk Trail Regional School and over 13% for the Franklin County Technical School, as more students from town are attending the Technical School.
