(Colrain, MA) This Veterans Day, the Colrain Veterans Memorial Park committee will be unveiling the new memorial park with a ceremony at 10 a.m on Friday, November 11th. The memorial park project coincided with the reconstruction of the intersection of Main Road, Jacksonville Road and Greenfield Road in the center of Colrain.

The new memorial park recognizes Colrain’s veterans and includes three stones displaying names of those who served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and one left empty for veterans from 1975 and later. These names were previously displayed on a handmade wooden sign at the town common. There is also a stone with the names of veterans who served in older wars that was moved next to the tree in the new town common. The park project cost $15,000 to build and was funded through fundraising and the town budget.
