(Boston, MA) Governor Baker announced a new round of funding for Massachusetts Community Health Centers to support workforce training, retention, and recruitment. $15 million has been allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

This year the Baker-Polito Administration has allocated over $115 million to the state’s Community Health Centers for a variety of projects including COVID-19 mitigation efforts, upgrading digital health record systems, and the Health Safety Net Trust Fund. The Community Health Center of Franklin County has been a recipient of many of these funding rounds and has unveiled their upgraded Electronic Medical Record system this month.

Health and Human Services Secretary Marylou Sudders said, “Community health centers provide essential primary, preventive, dental and behavioral health treatment to anyone regardless of their ability to pay. Maintaining the viability of our Massachusetts Community Health Centers in Massachusetts is important to address the whole health needs of their patients and to support the communities in which they work.”
