GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — With federal funding in question, Greenfield Police Chief Todd Dodge said he does not want to move backwards on the co-response collaboration with the Clinical Support & Options team.

Currently, the program is funded by the state’s Jail Diversion program, although there is concern the state program may lose a significant portion of its funding $18 million.

Chief Dodge said he believes the police department will continue the co-response program through potential funding cuts and hopes CSO will be able to as well, although there may be cuts to the number of shifts co-response units can run.
