CONWAY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Sunday, August 11th, the Departments of Conservation and Recreation and Fish and Game, sent a crew of 21 of the state’s wild land firefighters to Boise, Idaho to battle ongoing fires. On the crew is Conway resident Robert Armstrong, a Lieutenant in the Conway Fire Department.
This is the second crew the state has sent to aid in the wildfires burning across the northwest. Last month, Massachusetts sent a 20 person crew of DCR and MassWildlife firefighters to Helena, Montana, where they helped battle active and uncontained large fires burning almost 46,000 acres across the state.
