GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield City Council voted unanimously Thursday to authorize the establishment of an elderly and disabled tax fund. The issue was brought to council by Councilors Wahab Minhas and Michael Mastrototaro.

The fund is set up to accept donations from members of the public to be distributed through a committee to elderly and disabled residents in need of assistance with their property tax bills. Several community members came to the City Council meeting to voice their support for the fund, many with experiences of the tax title taking process.
