(Greenfield, MA) Court Square will be closing to vehicular traffic from the week of May 16th through October for seasonal events. Similar to last year, movable planters will be used to block off Court Square between Main Street and Newton Place and this year there will be additional handicapped parking behind City Hall with more visible signage to direct vehicles and visitors into the building. The parking is accessible via Main Street at the Veteran’s Memorial Mall and Bank Row from Newton Place.

“We reviewed feedback from last year’s pilot closure and the overwhelming message was that the community wants more events on Court Square and the Town Common,” said Mayor Roxann Wedegartner.

Upcoming events for the area include the Greenfield Farmers’ Market, Green Bee Fest on May 21st, Greenfield Community College Day on June 4th, and a pick up location for shuttle buses to and from the Green River Festival June 24-26, along with many other events.
