BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Senator Jo Comerford has given an update on COVID-19 booster vaccine availability in Massachusetts after constituents reached out with concerns around receiving this year’s updated booster shot.
Senator Comerford said the Department of Public Health, DPH, is allowing all qualified pharmacists to administer COVID-19 vaccines, which should be available at CVS and Walgreens across the state this week and appointments should be available in the coming days.
In regards to insurance coverage, Senator Comerford also shared that the Division of Insurance has required all health plans and insurers to maintain vaccine coverage for those recommended by the DPH “regardless of federal action.”
