(Greenfield, MA) Mayor Roxanne Wedegartner said during a press conference Thursday morning the Emergency Operations Center will not be reopened in Greenfield just yet. While COVID-19 numbers are rising, and there are eight active cases, she feels the city is more prepared for another COVID-19 surge than in the Spring due to the availability of PPE and the increased knowledge and awareness of how COVID-19 spreads. While the new surge is concerning, the Mayor said she will continue to monitor the hospitalization rate and the death rate in the city to determine what actions should be taken.
