(Massachusetts) COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts schools have skyrocketed, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. In the last two weeks, 51,000 new cases in Massachusetts elementary and secondary schools have been reported. That’s almost three times more than the number of new cases logged in the previous two week period. COVID-19 hospitalizations have jumped 40% in the last week as well. Lawmakers in Boston have asked Governor Charlie Baker to speak at an oversight hearing regarding COVID-19 control measures early this week due to the latest surge in cases in the Commonwealth.
