(Boston, MA) COVID-19 related deaths and hospitalizations in Massachusetts continued to trend downward over the weekend, bringing the total hospitalizations down from 656 on Friday, July 3 to 636 on Sunday, July 5. While there were 290 new COVID-19 cases on Friday and 210 new cases on Saturday, on Sunday Massachusetts reported just 136 new cases. There were 17 deaths on Friday, 23 on Saturday, and 11 on Sunday. Today, July 6, is the day that Massachusetts enters Step 1 Phase 3 of the Four Phase Reopening Plan.

While gyms and museums have been given the green light to reopen and wedding venues can operate at 25% capacity indoors, overnight camps have been reportedly quietly pushed back to Phase Four. Phase Four of the reopening plan will begin when there is a vaccine that is widely distributed. Bars and nightclubs have also been pushed to Phase Four.
