COVID Hospitalization Reporting To Change In Massachusetts

(Massachusetts) A change is coming to COVID-19 reporting in the State of Massachusetts. Starting next week, hospitals will differentiate between patients admitted primarily for COVID-19 and patients admitted for another health issue but test positive for COVID-19 while in the hospital. COVID-19 hospitalizations for the first few days of 2022 already exceed last year’s high. However, last year at this time there were 2,416 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, compared to 2,426 as of January 5, 2022.
