GARDNER, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The network outage that has impacted Heywood and Athol Hospitals this week, has been the result of a cybersecurity incident, according to Athol Hospital officials.
The hospitals took affected systems offline to protect their network and patients and are working with a third-party cybersecurity team to address and restore the system. Heywood Hospital, Athol Hospital, and Heywood Medical Groups are open and caring for patients at this time.
