(Deerfield, MA) The town of Deerfield is seeking voters’ approval for $5 million in borrowing to cover road repairs. A Special Town Election is set for this Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Deerfield Town Hall to determine whether the residents’ approval of the borrowing at the Special Town Meeting will stand. The town is currently estimating it will need $3.5 million for completed repairs, planned repairs, and a contingency fund. The additional $1.5 million is to provide flexibility for this winter when roads may need additional repairs, such as River Road which would cut off emergency vehicle routes if cut off.
