(Deerfield, MA) The Deerfield Police Department is calling out local and state officials regarding the conditions of Greenfield Road near Richardson’s.
“It’s time for a real fix including improved drainage to allow the water to flow to the Deerfield River. Action is long overdue; State and local officials have known about this dangerous situation for years and nothing has been done,” said the department on social media.
The road continues to flood in heavy rain, and these past few days caused flash flood conditions and a traffic hazard for motorists. According to the Deerfield Police Department, the conditions have been reported to MassDOT, which only recently began to place signs warning motorists of the flooding.
