(Greenfield, MA) Monday, November 28th the first of three community conversations will take place in Greenfield on race, gender, class, equity, and other topics. These conversations will be hosted by outside facilitators Tanisha Arena, the executive director of Arise for Social Justice, and JAC Patrisssi, international trauma clinician and author.
“It is possible to navigate the most difficult, racially sensitive topics in a way that increases deep understanding,” said Arena. “We can practice talking to one another and solving problems in a way that moves us forward as a community.”
“In this series of three meetings, community members will be invited to learn and practice a set of dialogue skills as we talk in real time about issues of deep import to us all,” said Patrissi. “Each session will build on the next. Please plan to attend all three if you can.”
Mayor Wedegartner said she hopes “that this series will facilitate substantive and frank conversations on difficult topics that have the potential to bring the community together, rather than create divisions.”
The meetings will be held on Mondays: November 28th, December 5th, and December 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom, which can be accessed via the Greenfield City website.
