(Colrain, MA) Firefighters and rescue workers in Colrain were called to Catamount Lake in the early evening of Thursday, December 10 for reports of a dog that had fallen through the ice. Two firefighters reportedly crawled 40 to 50 feet across the ice with a ladder, at which point they were able to rescue the dog. The dog was hypothermic and unable to walk, and was carried back to rescuers. Rescuers then assisted the dog with heated blankets.
